Around 50 people attended this event, held on 26 August 2011 at the Scottish Parliament as part of its Festival of Politics.
For the first time, four UN agencies operating in Scotland came together to speak at this Festival: UNA Scotland, UNESCO, UNICEF and UNITAR. They spoke on their experience in communicating UN international politics and trends to Scottish audiences across the areas of peace & security, development, education & training, children and human rights.
The event was chaired by Ken Stewart, Treasurer of the United Nations Association, Scotland.
May East, Executive Director CIFAL UNITAR Associated Centre, outlined techniques on how to communicate frontline implications of climate change & sustainability effectively at policy and decision-making levels. You can see May’s presentation here – CIFAL Presentation
